Anyone had problems with interior lights not coming on when the door is opened? Its the drivers door and if i wiggle the handle the lights come on. Or they did-stopped working altogether now! I assume theres a little microswitch on the handle? I dont have time to take off the door panel for a while so any tips would be great! What worries me too is that if the door is opened when locked the alarm wont go off?

the microswitch is part of the lock/catch/central lock motor inside the door , it is all one sealed unit ..There are 2 or 3 microswitches in there for different functions.

If you're patient and have a can of WD40 or similar and some time you can get the switch working again by squirting WD40 or similar as deep into the door latch as you can. Hold the door handle in the open position and work the latch back and forth until the lights start working again.

Squirt from the outside, the switch is operated by the latch deep inside the lock, so to hit the spot you will need to use a straw on the can and try and hit the back of the latch inside the lock.

If you take the door card off it'smuch easier to get at the three microswitches on the drivers doorlock mechanism. Haynes is actually quite good on this. The microswitches probably just need a clean. Jack
