I am in the process of acquiring a replacement air filter and are planning to remove the entire box and use a modified aluminium sleeve for a K&N type filter. On the back of the standard housing there are 2 tubes (vacuum?) and only one is sucking air. Is it ok to mod the functional one into the actual new filter seal and leave the other as obsolete or should I put them both into the new filter? The other thought was to loop them but I didn't know what the outcome would be. I don't anticipate any other problems with this job. Thanks.

Don't bother, just get a panel filter and remove any foam inside airbox and remove the original cold air feed as its next to useless, If you can get abit of tubing and put it in its place, it will make just as nice sound with a panel filter in modded airbox as it will with a cone filter
